Patriots for Europe before the plenary session in APRIL 2026
During the next plenary session of the European Parliament, Patriots for Europe will once again defend the interests of citizens and the sovereignty of nation states. Europe today needs a return to politics based on responsibility, security, and respect for the democratic decisions of nations — not further centralisation of power in Brussels.
The EU Budget Must Serve Europeans
One of the key topics of the session will be the future European Union budget for 2028–2034. We oppose reducing funds allocated to agriculture and cohesion policy while simultaneously increasing spending on ideological projects and the continued expansion of the EU administration.
The European budget should support families, entrepreneurs, farmers, and regional development — not become a tool for political pressure and the centralisation of the European Commission’s powers.
Defending Democracy and National Sovereignty
Patriots for Europe firmly oppose any attempts by EU institutions to interfere in the electoral processes of Member States. Democracy means the right of nations to decide their own future without political pressure, the freezing of funds, or interference in public debate.
The European Union should serve its Member States, not replace democratically elected governments in making decisions that affect citizens.
Europe’s Security and Border Protection
During the plenary session, we will also raise issues related to Europe’s security. Effective protection of the EU’s external borders, combating illegal migration, and policies that put the safety of European citizens first are urgently needed.
Europe cannot continue to become economically and energetically dependent on unstable external partners. Strengthening Europe’s energy independence and protecting European agriculture and industry from unfair competition from outside the EU are essential.
A Europe of Sovereign Nations
Patriots for Europe consistently support a Europe of cooperating nations — strong in their identity, culture, and right to make independent decisions. Only such a Europe will be able to regain citizens’ trust and effectively respond to the challenges of the modern world.
